Our History
The Running Horses, once a coaching house servicing the main trade route from London to the South, has been a traditional English hostelry for over 400 years. Today, its boasts 8 charming en- suite rooms, updated with modern facilities, whilst remaining true to this incredible building’s history. Each room is designed to be as individual as you are, so we know we will find the perfect fit for you.
The Pub
You are guaranteed a warm welcome from the moment you enter the bar, with its roaring log fire. Why not while hours away in our whiskey lounge or relax on the terrace by the fire pit? There is truly something for everyone.
You’ll find our kitchen at the heart of our pub; serving a wonderful seasonal British menu; focusing on simple fresh flavours. Much of our food is locally sourced and is accompanied by our somellier curated wine list, with many special bottles from the cellar.
Well behaved four legged friends are welcome on our front patio and in the Bar. Please ensure they are under control at all times and remain on a lead. Please note that dogs are not permitted in our Dining Room and only in specific rooms in our accommodation, please call to book a dog friendly room.
